With the release of a new version of Android, it’s only fitting that fresh new versions of custom recoveries are released as well. Custom recoveries are among the most frequently used post-root modifications, as they serve as the primary flashing interface for nearly everything. With TWRP’ receiving an update to 2.2, it is only fitting that ClockworkMod Recovery also be updated. So far, the alphas can be tested on at least the Samsung Galaxy R i9103 and the Samsung Galaxy Nexus, but expect the list to grow very quickly.

XDA Forum Member Adam77Root is responsible for bringing it to the Galaxy R and XDA Forum Member D3VI0US brought it to the Galaxy Nexus. Even though the devices are pretty different, both recoveries have are reported as working quite well with only a few issues.

Both the touch and non-touch versions are available for the Galaxy Nexus. However, there are not any flashable update.zips yet, so users are currently stuck installing the recovery by pushing the recovery.img file provided to the device manually. The Galaxy R is touch-enabled only—albeit with a few more known issues than the Galaxy Nexus version—which users can install by flashing a zip in their old recovery. Both devices are working with alpha builds, so users should be mindful that there may be bugs that haven’t been reported yet.
